Here's a list, in case you need one to plan what to read during Banned Books Week.
What amazes me is that Banned Books are some of the best books out there!
I cant wait! Hope you both will join me in the celebration I have planned that week!
I already have a "bucket list" of classic books I want to read in my lifetime. However, after recently writing a research paper for my English Comp class I have adapted my list to include the books that have been challenged or banned. My paper included a story of the novel Briar Rose that was burned on the steps of the board of Education by some ministers because they did not agree that the story of Sleeping Beauty was adapted in this novel. While the novel does follow the story of Sleeping Beauty the princess was actually a Jewish girl who was rescued by a homosexual prince during the Holocaust. It was disturbing that a story about the horrible things that occured during the Holocaust would be burned.
Thank you for this blog and supporting Banned Books Week!
