Banned Books ~ a reading project

In honor of Banned Books Week (September 29 through October 6, 2007), I'm starting a new reading project. The rules are simple: Members of the Banned Books project will read and post about banned books. That's it. No time limit, no required number to complete, just reading any book that has ever been challenged or banned; and registration is always open. So here are a few places you can find titles of banned or challenged books:

1. Banned and/or Challenged Books from the Radcliffe Publishing Course Top 100 Novels of the 20th Century
2. Most Challenged Books of the 21st Century (2000-2005)
3. Wikipedia has a partial list of banned books
4. Read everything I've written about banned books on my Bonnie's Books blog.
5. Banned Books Online tells about quite a few banned books.
6. The 100 Most Frequently Challenged Books of 1990-2000
7. Read about the difference between Challenged and Banned Books.
8. See the 10 Most Challenged Books of 2006 out of 546 that were challenged last year.

If you want to be a contributor to this blog, email me at emerging dot paradigm at yahoo dot com. Then you will be able to post your reviews of banned books, as well as cross-post them on your own blog, if you choose. As each book is reviewed, I'll add it to the list in the sidebar.

So excited! I'm going to work on the 2000 to 2005 list.

If I don't come here soon and post some old reviews of banned books, will you remind me? I've neglected the Newbery Project blog for weeks even though I have plenty to post there; I just keep forgetting. And I don't want to do the same here!
